IPCrypt Client and IPCrypt Client USB encrypt IP networks such as LANs, WANs and the Internet. Workstations and Notebooks can use IPCrypt Client as a function of the CompuSec® product line or as an independent software. The IPCrypt Client software is provided free with the IPCryptor. IPCrypt Client USB uses e-Identity® to achieve a higher security level.

Universal Use

Encryption
IPCrypt Client and IPCrypt Client USB can encrypt IP packets and tunnel them through the Internet. The encryption uses the AES algorithm with 256-bit long keys. However, IPCrypt Client USB comes with an e-Identity® smart card or token to further enhance security by storing secrets keys in the hardware. Both IPCrypt Client and IPCrypt Client USB are also able to calculate a new session key for each individual IP packet without degrading line speed. This provides for a tremendous increase in the level of security and performance compared to traditional IPSEC solutions.

Access Control
The Enhanced IPSec Protocol used in IPCrypt Client and IPCrypt Client USB ensures that every packet sent from the client machine is implicitly authenticated when received and decrypted by the corresponding Cryptor. As such, the user does not need to establish a tunnel with the Cryptor each time a connection is required, unlike in Standard IPSec. Both the IPCrypt Client and IPCrypt Client USB support the RADIUS protocol.

Connection Control
IPCrypt Client and IPCrypt Client USB can work with all physical and logical network adapters in the system. Encrypted and plain connections can exist in parallel. In a GlobalAdmin managed environment, the encryption modes in the client machine can be centrally managed by the administrator.

Speed
The encryption technology used in IPCrypt Client USB ensures a high speed of encryption which allows it to be easily deployed for use on LANs with a high data throughput.

Compression
IPCrypt Client and IPCrypt Client USB feature a built-in mechanism that compresses IP packets. As such, even if the WAN adapters currently available today are not able to compress the encrypted packets, this feature can help reduce the bandwidth used. This is in contrast to the widely used integrated compression of WAN adapters, such as the ISDN cards, where encrypted packets cannot be compressed.

Flexible IP Addressing
The remote DHCP support feature of IPCrypt Client and IPCrypt Client USB allows computers that receive a dynamic IP address from a dial-up service provider to participate in encrypted communication. The computer can receive its own internal IP address dynamically from the remote DHCP server of the IPCryptor. This advanced feature lets an organisation use its own address pool even on remote notebooks.

Easy and Universal
IPCrypt Client automatically senses for any hardware encryption components installed on the system. If such a component is found, it is automatically used. When no encryption hardware is installed, IPCrypt Client uses a software encryption.
